摘要
修辞疑问句是一种旨在强调的特殊问句,以问句的形式表达对内容的强调。传统的修辞疑问句研究较多地停留在静态的层面,关注点常常落在语法和句法上,对其在动态的人际互动中的语用功能的研究尚显不足。该文以英语脱口秀节目为语料,对修辞疑问句在节目中的语用功能进行了初步的研究,发现其具有寻求移情、强化信息、表达异议及带动议题等多种功能。
Rhetorical question is a kind of question with its focus on the message conveyed.Traditional study mostly centers around its grammatical or the syntactic function,leaving uncovered the pragmatic functions revealed in the dynamic and interac tional context.Based on the talk show corpus,this paper indicates that rhetorical questions in the show have such pragmatic func tions as looking for empathy,consolidating message,expressing argument and smoothing the topic under discussion.
