摘要
开发区是各级地方政府拉动经济增长、促进区域产业发展的重要平台。本文利用1998~2009年中国工业企业数据库实证检验了开发区对企业创新的影响及其作用机制。结果表明:总体而言,开发区显著促进了企业创新;进一步研究发现,不同级别开发区对企业创新的影响存在差异,国家级和市级开发区对企业创新的促进作用并不显著,省级开发区显著促进了企业创新。在此基础上,本文引入中介效应模型并测算了开发区内的专业化与多样化产业集聚水平,发现政策效应和产业的专业化集聚是开发区影响企业创新的主要作用机制。
A special economic zone(SEZ)is an important way for local governments to promote economic growth and industrial development.Using Chinese firm-level data from 1998 to 2009,this study conducts an empirical analysis of the relationship between SEZs and firm innovation.We find that,in general,SEZs contribute to improving firm innovation.Further study finds that the impact of SEZs on firm innovation is heterogeneous,that is,only provincial SEZs promote firm innovation.Furthermore,we find that firm innovation may be promoted through two channels:a policy effect or an agglomeration effect.
