摘要
荀学历史地位的变迁主要分为三个时期,即炽盛时期、凋敝时期和中兴时期。从战国时期到中晚唐前,荀学地位显赫。宋明时期,随着君主专制的不断演进,统治者们纷纷采取“阳儒阴法”之策,把荀学与法家相联系,荀学退居幕后,加之韩愈“道统说”构建以来,孟子升格运动不断进行,荀学因“性恶”被宋明理学家认为“大本已失”而遭到猛烈批判,荀学进入凋敝期。到明朝嘉靖年间,荀子被赶出了孔庙。进入清代,人们开始对宋明理学,尤其是对阳明后学,进行反思和批判;随着“黜宋崇汉、经世致用”风气的兴起,荀学又逐渐被世人所重视,在清代又逐渐迎来了中兴。
The historical status of Xunzi's philosophy(Xunxue)mainly divided into three periods:the flourishing period,the decline period,and the revival period.During the Warring States period to the mid and late Tang Dynasty,Xunxue held a prominent status.However,in the Song and Ming Dynasties,as the autocratic monarchy continued to evolve,rulers adopted a policy of"Confucianism on the surface,Legalism in practice",linking Xunxue with Legalism,forcing it to retreat into obscurity.Additionally,since Han Yu's establishment of the"Orthodox Lineage",the elevation of Mencius continued,and Xunxuewas harshly criticized by Song-Ming Neo-Confucians because of"human nature is evil"who considered it a fundamental deviation.Xunzi was expulsed from Confucian temples duringthe Jiajingperiod of the Ming Dynasty.There was a reflection and critique of Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism,particularly the later Wang Yangmingschool in the Qing Dynasty,there was a reflection and critique of Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism,particularly the later Wang Yangming school.With the rise of trends"advocating for the dismissal of Song-Ming ideals in favor of Han Confucianism and a practical approach to governance",Xunxue gradually regained attention,leading to a revival in the Qing Dynasty.
