摘要
为回应如何讲好中国故事并以文化脉络为基重构“元认知”的时代问题,本文基于娱乐克服阻力模型构建了美国民众接受中国文化故事的理论机制和边界条件。通过全面考察认知、情感与结构三维因素的复杂交织,本文探究了在中美博弈的背景下,来源可信度和叙事传输如何激发或减弱自由威胁、抵抗及反驳等说服阻力因素,如何唤醒群体共情这一说服促进因素。基于三组组间实验的研究表明,从来源可信度层面而言,中国网红>外国网红>中国官方媒体,当前国际传播中征用“洋网红”的新兴惯习需要反思;从叙事传输层面而言,中国官方媒体>中国网红>外国网红,中国官方媒体仍存在突围之道;从整体层面而言,来源可信度越高,美国民众自由威胁感越低,抵抗心理越低,说服效果越高;叙事传输度越高,越不容易产生对内容的反驳。群体共情的不同水平显著调节了叙事传输和说服效果之间的关系,也有望带来更长期的说服效果。从理论层面而言,本文提升了娱乐克服阻力模型的内外效度,也拓展了当前叙事说服理论的解释效力;从实践层面而言,本文根据模型变量提供了相应的说服阻力抑制策略和说服促进激活策略,为在国际传播实践中如何触及美国受众心灵深处提供靶向性启示。
In response to the contemporary challenge of how to effectively tell China's story and reconstruct “metacognition” based on cultural context, this paper builds a theoretical mechanism and boundary conditions for the acceptance of Chinese cultural narratives by the American public, grounded in the Entertainment Overcoming Resistance Model(EORM). By comprehensively examining the complex interplay of cognitive, emotional, and structural dimensions, this study explores how, in the context of Sino-American competition, source credibility and narrative transmission can either trigger or mitigate persuasive resistance factors such as freedom threat, resistance, and counterarguing, as well as how they can evoke group empathy, a factor that facilitates persuasion. Based on three experiments, the findings reveal that, in terms of source credibility, Chinese influencers > foreign influencers > China's official media, suggesting a need to reconsider the emerging practice of employing “foreign influencers” in current international communication;in terms of narrative transmission, China's official media > Chinese influencers > foreign influencers, indicating that China's official media still has a path to breakthrough.Overall, higher source credibility leads to lower perceptions of freedom threat, lower psychological resistance, and higher persuasive effectiveness;among the American public higher narrative transmission reduces the likelihood of content counterarguing. Different levels of group empathy significantly moderate the relationship between narrative transmission and persuasive effectiveness, potentially leading to more long-term persuasive effects. Theoretically, this paper enhances the internal and external validity of the EORM and expands the explanatory power of current narrative persuasion theories.
