Objective To observe the efficacy of combined knee joint balance stabilization training and acupuncture in the treatment of knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods Fifty patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA)were recruited from March 2023 to March 2024 and divided into an observation group and a control group, each comprising 25 patients. The control group received solely acupuncture, whereas the observation group underwent combined knee joint balance stabilization training and acupuncture. The Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)was employed to assess the symptoms of knee osteoarthritis and the overall treatment efficacy. Results The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The WOMAC scores of the two groups of patients were compared at 2 and 4 weeks after treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared to using acupuncture alone, combining knee joint balance stabilization training with acupuncture for treatments lasting 2 weeks or longer yields has better effects for KOA and is worthy of clinical promotion.
