20世纪“电懋”公司的国语时装片展现了多样的、现代化的都市空间:机舱/机场作为一种流动的现代空间,满足了观众对于现代职业和旅行的想象;夜总会/舞厅不仅是娱乐场所,还是女性想要获取主导权的“性别战场”;客厅则处于公共空间和私人空间之间,是资本主义伦理的集散地;从文本内到文本外的影院则提供了一个女性可以参与其中的“公共领域”。这些“电懋”电影中展现的都市空间共同组成了当时中产阶级的生活版图,并构建了观众的中产阶级文化想象与身份认同。
MP&GI’s mandarin fashion film shows a variety of modern urban space:the cabin/airport,as a mobile modern space,satisfies the audience’s imagination of modern occupation and travel;nightclubs/dance halls are not only places of entertainment,it is also a“gender battlefield”where women want to dominate;while the living room is between the public space and the private space,and it is the distribution center of capitalist ethics;cinemas from inside to outside the text provide a“public sphere”in which women can participate.In these MP&GI films,the urban space together forms the life map of the middle class,and constructs the middle class cultural imagination and identity of the audience.
