论子思《表记》中的仁德与仁行

摘要 《表记》通常被视为子思的作品,此篇接续孔子在《论语》中对“仁”的讨论,进一步对“仁”的内涵以及仁德与仁行之间的关系等问题进行阐发。《表记》通过对安仁、利仁、强仁三种不同行仁动机的分析,将仁德的根源内溯至内心情感层面。同时,《表记》亦指出“仁”的概念中包含两个面向,即“仁之为道”与“仁之为器”,明确区分仁德和仁行,体现以体用论对“仁”进行分析的萌芽,在揭示仁德的本体性、优先性的同时,也强调仁行、仁功的功利价值的重要性。基于此,《表记》对君子如何行仁的讨论,对儒家所关切的仁政、教化等问题有所补充。而《表记》所展现的这些思想,在《中庸》《五行》等文章中可找到相互印证之处,体现子思论仁的独特性。 The“Biaoji”Chapter,often attributed to Zisi,builds upon Confucius’discussion of benevolence in The Analects and delves deeper into topics such as the implications of benevolence and the relationship between benevolence and benevolent action.Firstly,through an examination of three different motivations for moral actions,The“Biaoji”Chapter traces the origin of benevolence to one’s inner emotions.Secondly,it highlights the two aspects of benevolence as a principle and a tool,effectively distinguishing benevolence from its practical application.This analysis reflects an embryonic use of the essence-function theory in understanding benevolence and underscores its ontological and prioritized nature.Thirdly,this work also explored the practical applications of benevolence at both individual and governance levels,emphasizing the utilitarian value of benevolent action.It not only affirmed the importance of moral actions but also provided governors with pragmatic insights on implementing benevolence within their societies.Notably,these ideas presented align with similar insights found in other Zisi’s works such as The Doctrine of the Mean and Wuxing,thereby showcasing the distinctiveness of Zisi’s discourse on benevolence.
