通过色彩语言能够全面而准确地把握《瓦尔登湖》(下称《湖》),从而实现梭罗形象的复魅:绿色的《湖》揭示了一个“向往精神自由”的“自然代言人”梭罗形象;白色的《湖》揭示了梭罗对社会总体异化的批判,体现了梭罗作为“社会改造者”的身份;红色的《湖》象征着革命性与野性,展现了梭罗革命者、实践者、博物学家的形象;黑色的《湖》展现了梭罗独特的宗教观和哲学式的批判精神;橙色的《湖》展现了梭罗身心交困、歇斯底里的创作心境,也映射了梭罗超然的性格;灰色的《湖》展现了梭罗内心的禁欲与孤独。至此,《瓦尔登湖》一书的全貌呼之欲出,从而消弭梭罗的刻板印象,把一个扁平的“隐士”文学形象还原为积极参与社会改造、关注时代命运、重视实践、自由独立、善于“哲学式”批判反思、重视自我完善、身心交困、矛盾重重、经历坎坷的立体形象,揭示了梭罗的博物学家、科学家等鲜为人知的身份,最终实现梭罗形象的祛魅与复魅。
Through the color language,Walden(hereinafter referred to as“The Lake”)can be fully and accurately grasped,so as to realize the revival of Thoreau's image:the green“Lake”reveals the image of Thoreau as a“spokesperson of nature”“yearning for spiritual freedom”.The White Lake reveals Thoreau's critique of the total alienation of society and embodies Thoreau's identity as a“social reformer.”The red“Lake”symbolizes revolution and wildness,showing the image of Thoreau as a revolutionary,a practitioner and a naturalist.The black“The Lake”shows Thoreau's unique religious outlook and philosophical spirit.The orange“Lake”shows Thoreau's physical and mental distress and hysterical creative mood,and also reflects Thoreau's transcendent personality.The gray“Lake”shows Thoreau's inner ascetic state and loneliness.At this point,the whole picture of the book“Walden”is about to come out,thus eliminating Thoreau's stereotype,reducing a flat“hermit”literary image to a threedimensional image actively participating in social transformation,paying attention to the fate of the times,attaching importance to practice,free and independent,good at“philosophical”critical reflection,attaching importance to self-improvement,occasionally trapped in physical and mental difficulties,full of contradictions,and experiencing ups and downs,which reveals Thoreau's little-known identities as a naturalist and scientist,and finally realizes the disenchantment and re-enchantment of Thoreau's image.
