The FLIRT H_(2),designed for the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority(SBCTA)in California,USA,is the latest product from Stadler Company as an alternative traction solution.It will be the first hydrogen fuel cell train applied in the US railway passenger transportation,planned to enter commercial operation in California in 2024,equipped with modular and expandable hydrogen hybrid-power management units that can provide electricity for 2-4 compartments.The article focuses on the conceptual design and technical implementation of FLIRT H_(2),including vehicle structure,traction system layout,technical parameters,modular design,fuel cell,hydrogen storage system and energy efficiency,etc.,in order to provide reference for the development and design of hydrogen fuel cell train in the future.
