摘要
本文利用一项具有全国代表性的初中生教育追踪面板数据,在一个准随机实验的研究场景下,考察子女考试胜败经历会如何影响父母的学业目标设定.研究发现,当子女在一场考试中获得胜利时,其后续的学业表现和父母教育期望会提高,从而对父母设定高学业目标有显著的正向影响.父母越看重子女的考试成绩,这一现象越明显.进一步研究发现,在给定子女考试胜败经历的情况下,父母设定高学业目标会对子女的心理健康造成负向影响.本文不仅丰富了胜败经历影响目标设定的文献,对家庭教育的实践也有一定的启示意义.
This study utilizes a nationally representative panel data of junior high school students’educational trajectories,employing a quasi-experimental research design to examine how children’s experiences of success or failure in exams affect parents’academic goal setting.The findings reveal that when children achieve success in an exam,their subsequent academic performance and parents’educational expectations are elevated,thereby exerting a significant positive effect on parents’propensity to set high academic goals.The more parents prioritize their children’s examination scores,the more pronounced this effect becomes.Further investigation indicates that given the children’s experiences of success or failure in exams,parents setting high academic goals can have a negative impact on children’s psychological health.Our findings not only enrich the literature on how experiences of success or failure shape goal setting but also provide insights for the practice of family education.
