This paper aims to deeply explore the specific application and value of BIM technology in mechanical and electrical engineering.This paper will introduce the basic concepts and characteristics of BIM technology,as well as its application background in the field of mechanical and electrical engineering,and analyze the application of BIM technology in three stages:mechanical and electrical engineering design,construction,and operation and maintenance.Through specific case analysis,this paper shows how BIM technology can help mechanical and electrical engineering professionals solve practical problems and improve engineering efficiency and quality.This paper also explores some main challenges faced in the application of BIM technology,such as data exchange and collaboration issues,and software compatibility issues,and how these issues can be addressed through research&development and standardization.
