摘要
美国当代科幻作家金·斯坦利·罗宾森的长篇或然历史小说《米与盐的年代》呈现了后冷战时期西方所建构的中国形象,小说中折射出了西方学者在有关中国的知识领域、思维方式和话语机制等三个维度上固有的成见和刻板印象,其本质是欧美“东方主义”视野下对中国形象的描绘和建构。针对欧美学者对中国文化误读这一现象,应以理性而审慎的批判意识去辨析和解读西方价值观下有关中国题材的作品,并建构起具有文化多样性和文明互鉴的平等互动的交流模式。
This paper takes contemporary American science fiction writer Kim Stanley Robinson's alternative history novel The Age of Rice and Salt as an object to explore the image of China constructed by the West in the post-Cold War period.It analyzes the western conceptual stereotype of China's intellectual sphere,way of thinking,and discourse as reflected in the novel,which is essentially a portrayal of China under the vision of“Orientalism”.In response to the phenomenon of misinterpretation of Chinese culture,we should take a rational and critical mindset on the China-related works under the influence of the western values,and establish a model of equal exchange with cultural diversity and mutual learning between civilizations.
