摘要
太赫兹通信具有频谱资源丰富、传输速率高、保密性强、易实现通信感知一体化等优势,在6G通信和空间通信等方面都具有重要的应用前景.然而,太赫兹频段的器件机理和传播特性迥异于微波频段:一是太赫兹波与现有器件材料的互作用效率较低,二是通信和感知的波形体制相互矛盾,三是太赫兹波传播的粒子效应突出.这些差异使得太赫兹通信感知一体化面临信号高效调控难、信号处理复杂度高、移动接入和覆盖受限3个难题.针对如何突破这些难题,本文将从系统架构、射频前端、波形产生、信号处理、组网的角度出发,介绍太赫兹通信感知一体化的背景、概念、特征、面临的挑战、需要解决的关键问题、一些研究进展,以及未来研究方向.
Terahertz(THz)communication possesses advantages such as rich spectrum resources,high transmission rates,strong confidentiality,and easy integration of communication and sensing.It holds significant application prospects in 6G communication,space communication,and other fields.However,the device mechanisms and propagation characteristics in the THz frequency band differ significantly from those in the microwave frequency band.Firstly,the interaction efficiency between THz waves and existing device materials is relatively low.Secondly,the waveform design mechanisms for communication and sensing are contradictory to each other.Thirdly,particle effects are prominent in the propagation of THz waves.These differences pose three challenges to the integration of THz communication and sensing:difficulties in efficient signal control,high complexity in signal processing,and limitations in mobile access and coverage.Addressing these challenges,this article will discuss the background,concept,features,challenges,key issues to be resolved,some research advancements,and future research directions of THz communication and sensing integration,from the perspectives of system architecture,RF front end,waveform generation,signal processing,and networking.
