摘要
Floating in the depths of the South China Sea,a robotic arm extending from a submersible attempts to pick up a delicate porcelain jar, directed by an archeologist. They must be careful not to even nudge another artifact or disturb the seabed for fear of destroying other relics.Song Jianzhong and Dong Jiaxin, both archaeologists at the National Center for Archaeology of the National Cultural Heritage Administration of China, have participated in missions aboard a submersible to the sea bed to investigate the wrecks of two Ming Dynasty(1368-1644)vessels since 2023.
