“Who was Confucius?”“What makes the teachings of Confucius so special?”“Can you tell me a little more about Confucius?” As director of the Confucius Institute at Nuremberg-Erlangen, I have been asked these or similar questions many times over. Visitors frequently refer to the man who lent his name to our institute, omnipresent as he is in our wonderful building, thanks to artworks,design elements, and a myriad of books and publications.
