摘要
当下的气候变化受人类活动和自然因素的共同影响,以全球变暖为显著特征,是人类社会最具紧迫性的挑战。30多年来,“气候变化”和“气候变化相关语言问题”研究快速增长,成为一个新兴的跨学科研究课题。对“气候变化相关语言问题”国际研究文献进行全面梳理可以发现,气候变化与语言迁移和语言遗失、语言可及性、话语权和话语体系构建、词汇问题以及言语治疗等5个话题是主要研究议题。这些研究呈现出4个方面的特点,即气候变化研究的多学科性决定了气候变化相关语言问题的多学科性,气候变化相关语言问题具有全球共性和国家区域差异性,气候正义是气候变化相关语言问题的核心,气候变化争议塑造气候变化相关语言问题研究议题等。语言学界应重视并参与气候变化相关语言问题探索,助力中国更加有效地参与全球气候治理。
Climate change,driven by both human activities and natural factors and characterized by global warming,is the most urgent common challenge facing human society.Over the past three decades,the research on“climate change”and“climate change-related language issues”has witnessed rapid growth,emerging as an interdisciplinary research area.This paper attempts to provide a comprehensive review of the international research literature on“climate change-related language issues”.Five major research topics have been identified,namely,climate change and language migration and loss,language accessibility,discoursive power and construction of discourse representation,vocabulary issues and speech therapy.Findings show that research on these topics exhibits four main characteristics.Namely,1)The multidisciplinary nature of climate change research determines the multidisciplinary nature of climate change-related language issues;2)While climate change-related language issues have global commonality shared by all human beings on one hand and these studies also have national/regional disparity on the other hand;3)Climate justice has been at the core of climate change-related language issues;4)It has been the climate change controversies that formulate the research topics of climate change-related language issues.In conclusion,this paper suggests that whereas China actively participates in global climate governance,the Chinese linguistic community should focus on and actively engage in the research of climate change-related language issues,thereby enhancing the influence of linguistics in the realm of climate change research.
