In the practice of cultural exchange across the Taiwan Strait,Mazu rituals and beliefs,as shared cultural memories, have shaped the collective identity of people on both sides, playing a significant role in constructing a national emotional community.Through mediated emotional narratives,Mazu culture addresses the emotional needs of ethnic group members and effectively promotes its own historical continuity. The emotional power inherent in Mazu belief, based on shared narratives of ethnic identity, vividly illustrates the interaction between rituals and texts.Taking Mazu culture as an example, this study explores the mechanisms of co-constructing shared memories in folk customs among people on both sides of the strait from the perspective of cultural memory theory, providing valuable insights into the construction of a national emotional community.
