《博物馆的教育角色》一书围绕“意义交流”这一主题,从博物馆传播、学习、展览、观众关系四个方面的转向,探讨富有多元教育角色的博物馆如何在跨学科理论和方法的指导下实现与社会、文化、政治语境的互动,继而搭建起博物馆与观众之间动态、多样的全新关系,向民主化、开放化的博物馆迈进。该书对于如今中国博物馆的发展具有重要价值,可看作一本回应当下模糊概念和争辩的工具之书,帮助从业者和研究者厘清“物”与观众之间的关系。
At the end of the 20th century,the educational values of British museums were underestimated.This led to insufficient exploration of museum resources and unsatisfactory feedback from the public.In order to explore,extend and improve the potential of future museum,Eilean Hooper-Greenhill,a leading figure in the field of museum education,wrote The Educational Role of the Museum with several experts from different research fields.The editor used the concept of'communication with meaning'to open the main topic,discussing how museums can use their multiple educational roles to interact with social,political and cultural contexts based on their shift between communication,learning,exhibition and audience relationships.In this way,the book can help museums to build a new and dynamic relationship between museums and audiences,and also achieve the goal of democratic and open image.This book is essential for the contemporary Chinese museums because it has provided some answers to ambiguous concepts and fierce conflicts,which could help researchers and staff to better understand the relationship between objects and audiences.
