摘要
《布鲁克林的荒唐事》是美国当代著名作家保罗·奥斯特于2003年创作的小说。该小说延续了作者一以贯之的创作主题——身份认同问题。小说生动地描述了生活在纽约布鲁克林等地的普通人生活中的喜怒哀乐。主人公内森等人因为与家人感情破裂及畸形的社会环境带来的伤害陷入生存危机,导致迷失自我与对现实的逃避,生活在孤独和迷茫中,但这些人物并没有一蹶不振,通过构建思想意识中最美好的社会对自我进行探寻,以及彼此救赎克服了自我失落与危机,最后在不断的自我批判和自我超越中走出精神困境并完成自我身份的认同。
Brooklyn Follies is a novel written in 2003 by Paul Auster,a famous contemporary American writer.The novel centers on the theme of identity,which is Auster's consistent writing theme.The novel vividly depicts the joys and sorrows of ordinary people living in Brooklyn,New York.Due to the fractured family relationships and the harm inflicted by an abnormal social environment,Nathan and other protagonists fall into an existential crisis and live in solitude and confusion,which leads to the loss of self and the escape from reality.However,they do not lose heart.They explore themselves by constructing an ideal society in their mind,overcoming self-loss and crisis through mutual redemption.In the end,they get out of the spiritual predicament and achieve self-identity through continuous self-reflection and self-transcendence.
