摘要
“中国”一词作为我国固定的国家名称,在3000多年的历史发展中,不同的历史时期含义有所不同。《史记》之前的文献资料可见“中国”的地域意义、族群意义,指称京师、中原地区、中原人及具体的诸侯国等。司马迁所撰《史记》“中国”的使用频次高且意义丰富;《史记》传承了古代“中国”的含义,且扩展了该词的意义,增加了文化与国家含义,为《史记》之后该词的意义固定奠定了基础。除《史记》之外的二十四史对该词的渐次更为频繁的使用说明对它的含义的认可。古代对“中国”一词的使用意义非常丰富,而现代我国的辞书对该词的辑录或缺失,或不够翔实与系统,需要增补或修正。
The term zhongguo,as a fixed national name in China,has different meanings in different historical periods over 3000 years of historical development.The literature before Historical Records shows the regional and ethnic significance of zhongguo,referring to the capital,central plain regions,central plain people,and specific vassal states.The term zhongguo in Sima Qian’s Historical Records is frequently used and has enriched the various meanings;Historical Records inherited the meanings of zhongguo in the ancient times and expanded the meaning of the term,adding cultural and national meanings,laying the foundation for the fixed meaning of the term after Historical Records.The gradual and more frequent use of this term by the twenty-four distinguished History books in addition to Historical Records indicates recognition of its meaning.Although the use of the term zhongguo in ancient times was very meaningful,the compilation of the term in modern Chinese dictionaries is either missing,or not detailed and systematic enough,hence,it is required supplementation or correction.
