Total laryngectomy has a profound effect on the swallowing function of patients by closing the pharyngeal cavity and restoring swallowing function.This article will review the origin of swallowing rehabilitation in patients with total laryngectomy,the status quo of preoperative and postoperative treatment,and discuss the future direction and development of laryngeal functional rehabilitation.
