摘要
本文利用中国对外援助和各国数字经济发展水平的相关数据,实证检验了中国与数字经济相关的对外援助对当地数字经济发展水平的影响。本文发现,中国在数字经济方面的对外援助能够显著促进当地数字经济发展。在子样本分析、倾向得分匹配、工具变量法等一系列稳健性检验中,该结论依然成立。异质性检验表明,对于那些被中国援助的累积金额相对较高、经济发展水平相对较高、贫困程度相对较低、服务业发展水平相对较差、初始数字经济发展水平相对较低的国家而言,中国援助对数字经济的促进效应更显著。在同一国家内部,中国对外援能助能促进男性、25岁及以上、受教育水平相对较高、相对富有和就业人群更多参与数字经济交易。进一步的机制分析结果表明,中国与数字经济相关的对外援助主要通过提高当地互联网普及率来推动数字经济的发展。最后,中国在数字经济方面的援助能够降低当地的收入不平等程度,这对于改善收入不平等这一全球治理问题具有重要意义。
This paper empirically examines the impact of China's foreign aid related to the digital economy on the development of local digital economies,using data on China's foreign aid and the development level of the digital economy in various countries.The empirical results show that China's foreign aid in the digital economy can significantly promote the development of local digital economies.These conclusions still hold under a series of robustness tests,including subsample analysis,propensity score matching,and the instrumental variable method.Heterogeneity analysis reveals that for countries with a relatively higher cumulative amount of aid from China,advanced economic development,lower poverty levels,underdeveloped service industries,and initially low levels of digital economy development,the promotion effect of Chinese aid on the digital economy is more significant.Within the same country,China's foreign aid promotes greater participation in digital economy transactions among demographic segments such as men,those aged 25 and above,highly educated individuals,wealthier citizens,and those who are employed.Further mechanism analysis indicates that China's foreign aid related to the digital economy primarily fosters digital economy growth by enhancing local internet penetration rates.Finally,this aid contributes to a reduction in income inequality,underscoring its relevance in addressing global income inequality governance.
