摘要
The Institute of Soil Science(ISS)located at Nanjing is an academic community directly affiliated with the Chinese Academy of Sciences(CAS).Being the cradle,research center,and talent highland of modern soil science in China,the institute is committed to promoting the development of soil science and to solving vital problems facing agricultural development,ecological conservation,and environmental protection.It has attracted and trained a large number of talented soil scientists,who have carried out a series of important research projects by fully utilizing China’s rich soil resources.The ISS has gradually developed into a powerful and influential international research center with a complete suite of subdisciplines of soil science,as well as a training base for senior scientists.The ISS enjoys a respectable reputation both domestically and overseas.It is home to several major research platforms,including the State Key Laboratory of Soil and Sustainable Agriculture,the Key Laboratory of Cultivated Land Conservation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs,and the National Engineering Research Center for Soil Nutrient Management and Pollution Remediation.
