This book is a volume of translation and commentary of the Epic of Gilgamesh(the Standard Babylonian version consisting of twelve clay tablets),probably composed by a Babylonian scribe named Sin-leqi-unninni in the late 2nd millennium BC(A.R.George,The Babylonian Gilgamesh Epic,Introduction,Critical Edition and Cuneiform Texts,Oxford:Oxford University Press,2003,p.30)and mainly excavated from the Ashurbanipal Library of Nineveh.
