摘要
该文丰富了20世纪70年代美籍气象学家郭晓岚的两次访华活动的相关史实。在科学民族主义和科学国际主义的推动下,郭晓岚致力于中国“四化”的建设,其跨国科技交流活动在一定程度上推动了中国科技现代化进程,弘扬了爱国主义精神。研究表明,郭晓岚的多次访华活动不仅使中国科学院大气物理研究所成员接触到美国气象研究的前沿知识,促进了中国大气科学的发展,也进一步调动了外籍学者为中国科技现代化服务的积极性。
This article is full of historical facts related to two visits to China by American meteorologist Guo Xiaolan(Hsiao-Lan Kuo)in the 1970s.Driven by scientific nationalism and scientific internationalism,Guo devoted himself to the construction of China's"four modernizations",and his transnational scientific and technological exchanges promoted China's scientific and technological modernization and promoted patriotism to a certain extent.The research shows that Guo's frequent visits to China not only enabled the members of The Atmospheric Institute to receive the cutting⁃edge knowledge of American meteorological research,but also promoted the development of Atmospheric science in China.At the same time,the success of Hsiao-lan kuo visit to China also further aroused the enthusiasm of foreign scholars to serve China's scientific and technological modernization.
