摘要
霍利斯将社会科学中的解释-理解之分引入方法论个体主义-整体主义争论,有益于我们梳理与澄清争论中的各观点与立场。然而,仅提供解释-理解之分这一框架,不足以推进方法论个体主义-整体主义争论。在这个意义上,基于“对比问题”的研究方法可作为对该框架的重要补充。通过对不同“对比问题”的比较研究,可以进一步得出如下结论:首先,对于方法论个体主义对方法论整体主义的批评,可以通过考察“对比问题”的方式加以重构并回应;其次,引入理解立场,并基于对比问题的重构可以更好地回答制度及其有效性问题;最后,理解立场将引出背景论题,基于背景的深描有益于我们理解社会现象,不过仍然需要进一步的论证来回应批评。
Hollis introduced the distinction between explanation and understanding in social sciences into the methodological individualism holism debate,which is beneficial for us to clarify this debate.However,the framework is not enough for us to advance the methodological individualism holism debate.In this sense,research methods based on"contrast question"can serve as important supplements to the framework.Through contrastive research on different"contrast question",the following conclusions can be further drawn:firstly,the criticism of methodological individualism towards methodological holism can be reconstructed and responded to by examining the"contrast question";Secondly,understanding based methodological holism can better answer questions about institutions and their effectiveness;Finally,the"understanding"position will lead to the thesis of background.The deep description based on the background is beneficial to our understanding of social phenomena,but it still needs further argumentation to respond to the criticism.
