摘要
1939年12月,中国营造学社在进行川康古建筑调查期间,发现广元千佛崖因筑路被破坏近半,又听闻公路拓宽工程计划炸毁剩余造像,梁思成紧急上书交通部及中央古物保管委员会,阻止了炸崖拓路计划,并请求交通部通令全国,道路工程建设注意避让古迹。本文披露这一组新发现的史料,冀裨益相关学术史研究。
This paper presents a newly discovered historical document regarding Liang Sicheng’s urgent conservation efforts in December 1939.During a survey of historic buildings in Sichuan and Xikang,the Society for Research in Chinese Architecture found extensive damage to the Qianfoya Grottoes in Guangyuan due to road construction.Alarmed by reports that the remaining statues were to be destroyed in a planned road widening project,Liang Sicheng wrote urgent letters to the Ministry of Transport and the Central Committee for the Preservation of Antiquities.His letter called for an immediate halt to the destructive plan and urged the Ministry of Transport to issue orders to protect these cultural monuments during road construction.This paper sheds light on Liang Sicheng’s conservation advocacy through the introduction of this significant historical document,contributing to academic research in the field of relevant historical studies.
