摘要
苏州大学博物馆现藏168通碑志,时间上起唐开成二年(837)、下至民国二十五年(1936),以中晚明碑志为主。在史料层面,这些碑志为研究明清江南地区的日常生活、商业发展、行会活动、民俗信仰与社会治理提供了宝贵的实物资料,具有重要的学术研究价值和历史文物价值。在文化层面,其中有不少作为公共性纪念物的地面刻石,这些地面刻石原本树立于名山通衢,通过碑刻形制与空间规划制造出不同的景观效应,凝聚着重要的文化价值。在艺术层面,馆藏碑志的撰文、书丹、篆盖者汇聚了明代吴门书派精英名宿,堪称见证吴门书派兴衰演变的“活态遗产”。
The Museum of Soochow University now has 168 inscribed tombstones in its collection,dating from the second year of the Tang Dynasty(837)to the twenty-fifth year of the Republic of China(1936),mainly from the middle and late Ming Dynasty.On the historical level,these inscriptions provide valuable physical materials for the study of daily life,commercial development,guild activities,folk beliefs and social governance in the Jiangnan area during the Ming and Qing dynasties,and are of great academic research and historical heritage value.On the cultural level,the collection includes many ground carved stones as public monuments,which are originally erected on famous mountains and thoroughfares,creating different landscape effects through the shape of the inscriptions and spatial planning,and embodying monumental cultural values.On the artistic level,the inscriptions,calligraphy and seal script of the collection are composed by the elite of the Wu School of calligraphy in the Ming Dynasty,which is a"living heritage"witnessing the rise and fall of the Wu School of calligraphy.
