卫量中的“■”为从豆从廾从米从禾的“登”字,表人名。“■”从米从斗,为“料”字,由称量物品名物化而表量器的自名,当是根据器物功用而命名;己侯貉子簋盖中的“■”字宀下部“■”可隶定为“重”,在简帛文献中,从“重”得声的字往往写作从“主”得声,“■”当释为“宔”,“宔”与“主”通,“己(纪)姜■用■”应隶定为“己(纪)姜石用宔(主)”,“■”为“掌管”义。
In measuring terms,the character"■"should be"登"that is composed of the a豆dou stemmed plate,廾,a米mi rice,and a禾he grain,representing a personal name.The character"料liao"contains a米mi rice and a豆dou stemmed plate,and signifies"measurements".It is a self-named term for measuring instruments,likely derived from its actual function.In the inscription on the lid of the Marquis of Ji's hezi gui container,the"宀"part in the character ■ under can be determined as"重",which,in bamboo and silk texts,often substitutes for"主"in phonetic loans.Therefore,"己(纪)姜用"should be understood as"己(纪)姜石用重(主)"which means"used for weighing and handling".
