摘要 A recent study by Czimmerer et al.published in Immunity reveals that exposure to interleukin-4(IL-4),which is an alternative signal, remodels the macrophage epigenetic landscape, including chromatin structure and the binding of transcriptional regulators to their dedicated enhancers. This allows for a synergistic interaction with toll-like receptor(TLR)ligand-mediated inflammatory stimuli, consequently enabling these cells to have an exaggerated inflammatory response[1].
