In view of the fact that the equal proportion strength reduction method uses the same coefficient for cohesion and internal friction angle in the reduction process,it can not really simulate the instability and failure process of the structure.Based on the design data of a practical water conservancy project, this paper establishes a nonlinear finite element model of the rock slope of the project, and focuses on the influence of weak structural planes such as faults and rock layers in the calculation.Based on the double reduction coefficient method, the stability of the rock slope with weak structural planes under dynamic action is studied, and the results are compared with those of the equal proportion strength reduction method. The research results show that the safety factor calculated by the double reduction coefficient method is slightly larger than that by the equal proportion strength reduction method, and the displacement value of the characteristic point when the slope is unstable is too large, which indicates that the calculation result of the equal proportion strength reduction method is conservative; It is feasible to analyze the dynamic stability of rock slope with weak structural plane by using the double reduction coefficient method, and it can more truly reflect the safety reserves of cohesion and internal friction angle in the process of structural instability and failure.
