The permeable reaction barrier(PRB)technology is a kind of technology which can realize continuous in situ treatment of chrome-contaminated soil and groundwater.Among the traditional PRB technologies,zero-valent iron is the most widely used filler, but PRB technology used zero-valent iron has some problems such as poor reactivity, passivation plugging and so on.The combination of it with electric repair technology and microbial repair technology can significantly improve the reaction efficiency, prolong the service life and increase the removal rate of Cr(Ⅵ),which has received more and more attention. In this paper, the research on the treatment of Cr(Ⅵ)by PRB technology combined with electrical repair technology and microbial repair technology in recent years is described. The development status of PRb-electrical repair technology,PRB-microbial repair technology and the combined treatment technology of the three technologies are introduced respectively. The application of combined technology can effectively improve the defects of single technology and has a good application prospect, but the research and application of combined technology is still in the initial stage. It still needs further research and exploration to form a scientific restoration system and large-scale application.
