Objective To evaluate the efficacy of routine and biochemical tests in the clinical diagnosis of diabetes. Methods 80 patients with suspected diabetes who went to the laboratory of the Fifth People's Hospital of Changshu from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the research objects.Routine tests and biochemical tests were provided.Glucose tolerance test was used as the diagnostic gold standard to analyze the effect of different test methods in the diagnosis of diabetes. Results The results of glucose tolerance test in 80 patients with suspected diabetes showed that the positive rate was 91.25%and the negative rate was 8.75%;The positive rate and negative rate of routine examination were 66.25%and 33.75%,respectively;The positive rate of biochemical test was 88.75%,and the negative rate was 11.25%.The sensitivity(95.89%),accuracy(95.00%)and positive predictive value(98.59%)of biochemical test were higher than those of conventional test, and the difference was statistically significant(χ^(2)=20.045,24.038,20.045,P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the specificity and negative predictive value between the routine and biochemical tests(P>0.05).Conclusion The application value of biochemical test in clinical diagnosis of diabetes is high, and it has higher specificity, sensitivity and accuracy compared with conventional test.
