摘要
运用图形—背景理论对凯特·肖邦的《一小时的故事》进行认知诗学分析,发现文本利用前景化技巧建构多重图形—背景关系,即人物的图形化、空间的图形化以及主题的图形化。通过马拉德夫人的图形化揭示她与他人之间的矛盾,通过客厅—房间的图形化引发读者积极探索公共领域和私人领域的空间隐喻意义,通过“自由”主题的图形化升华婚姻与自由相冲突的主题。对文本中认知理据的挖掘,有助于读者从多角度把握文本的深层内涵以及作者的情感意蕴。
This paper makes a cognitive poetics analysis of Kate Chopin's The Story of an Hour in the perspective of the figure-ground theory,and finds that the author uses the foregrounding technique to construct multiple Figure-ground relations,that is,the figurative characters,the figurative spaces and the figurative theme.The figurative character of Madame Mallard reveals the contradiction between her and others,through the figurative living room and bedroom,readers are prompted to actively explore the spatial metaphorical meaning of the public sphere and the private sphere,and through the figurative theme of"freedom",the theme of conflict between marriage and freedom is sublimated.According to excavate the cognitive motivation in the text,it is helpful to comprehend the deep connotation and emotion of the text from multiple angles.
