The Rosenberg Case in the 1950s has had a profound impact on the political environment during the American Cold War period. Many American writers focus on this controversial case to look through the official narrative by means of literary representation.E.L.Doctorow,as a“radical,Jewish humanist”,expresses his unique and penetrating reflection on this case with his ambiguous literary expression. It is stated that The Book of Daniel,as what has been termed a“trauma novel”,makes the inner spiritual sequence of the case focalized and amplified, skillfully fusing the authenticity of history and fictionality of imagination by discovering the traumatic memory of both the“old leftists”and the“new leftists”,then further demonstrates the false nature of language and its double power:power of freedom and power of regime, which verifies Doctorows view that a fiction is both related to politics and endowed with artistic complexity. As a result, writersliterary representation will serve as a way to interfere and dissemble the power of regime and to deconstruct the American myth, which brings about deep and thought-provoking historical reflection to readers.
