摘要 本文介绍在中文语境的课堂上如何带领大学生克服文化鸿沟,与莎翁建立有意义且个人化的关系。课堂以莎翁的商籁(十四行诗)诗串为学习英文的范例,课程设计模拟工作坊的形式,注重精读、跟读、商籁的格律分析与写作操练,以及协力编辑商籁日志。工作坊类似艺文沙龙的对谈交流,可以激发参与者分享观点和经验,逐渐内化商籁成为个人的语库。 In this paper,I would like to share with you my experiment with a group of undergraduates who established meaningful and personal contact with the Bard despite temporal distance and cultural differences.Much in the nature of a workshop,my course renovated the way we learn English by offering a concrete model Shakespeare's sonnet sequence.I emphasized close reading,paying attention to the sonnet form,and we kept a sonnet journal.The workshop was designed to be interactive and collaborative throughout,like a small world cafe or salon discussions,to best elicit and use the different ideas and experiences of the participants.
