This article compares and analyzes the inscriptions and patterns of motif of two bronze ge halberds from the early to late Western Zhou period unearthed from tomb no.M5 in Yu Village,Ningxian County. It concludes that the inscriptions on the bronze ge halberds from tomb no.M5 in Yu Village were the"Zu"character family emblem. The patterns of motif originate from the late Shang Dynasty in the Anyang region, and these decorative bronze ge halberds may have been used for ceremonial dances and rituals. The population associated with these objects was concentrated in the Anyang and Wu'an areas during the late Shang Dynasty and migrated to this Ningxian Countyregion during the early Western Zhou period. This marked the beginning of the transition towards the Zhou culture.
