摘要
芭蕉在明清时期的绘画中数见不鲜,具有相当丰富的文化内涵。作为人物画配景的芭蕉,在与罗汉的搭配中有着佛理禅意的象征,在品茗、抚琴等雅集活动的配景中蕴含了文人雅士的特质,在与仕女的搭配中蕴含了忧郁凄清的情思;而作为花鸟画主体的芭蕉,在与竹石搭配时象征了坚韧不屈的士人节操,在冬雪中的芭蕉则蕴含着傲霜斗雪的品质,在与其他花卉和珍禽虫兽的组合中往往因画家的个性化表达,通过伴随不同物类而传递出纯洁、斗寒、清雅、孤寂、雅趣等多样意蕴。
The banana plant is a common sight in paintings during Ming and Qing dynasties,and has a wide range of cultural connotations.As a background for figure painting,the banana plant is a symbol of Buddhist meditation when paired with a Luohan,of literary elegance when paired with elegant activities of tea and the fiddle,and of melancholy and poignancy when paired with a lady.As the subject of flower-and-bird paintings,the banana plant symbolizes the unyielding moral integrity of the literati when paired with bamboo and stone,and the quality of resistance to frost and snow when paired with winter snow.As the result of the individual expression of an artist,the banana plant,in combination with other flowers and rare birds and animals,contains a variety of meanings such as purity,cold resistance,elegance,solitude and grace.
