摘要
《左传·僖公二年》提到晋国有“屈产之乘”与“垂棘之璧”两件至宝。汉儒解经,多主“屈产”为地名,结合上古汉语构词机制,可知“屈产”之“产”为动词,“屈”为地名,即晋公子夷吾之封地。屈邑有南北二处,《左传·僖公二年》所言“屈地”乃北屈,位于今山西吉县一带。地方志多主张“垂棘之璧”与山西曲沃的吉(棘)璧村有关,有说法以水晶簇的三种形态和六种颜色,分别附会“三棘”与“六异”。据《墨子》相关条目及《说文》《尔雅》等训释,可知“三棘六异”即为“三翮六翼”,亦即“九鼎”,吉(棘)璧村与水晶簇实为附会之说。综合历史地理学的方法及清人沈钦韩的考证,可以确定“垂山”即为“垂棘”,位于今山西高都镇境内。
"The Second Year of Xigong" in Zuo's Commentary on The Spring and Autumn Annals mentioned that there are two rare treasures in the Jin State:"Jade produced in Chui-ji"(垂棘之璧) and "Steeds produced in Qu"(屈产之乘).When the Confucian Scholars in Han Dynasty interpret Classics,they generally believe that"Quchan"is a place name.Combining the word formation of ancient Chinese,it can be seen that "Chan" is a verb and "Qu"is a place where Yiwu,the prince of Jin State enfeoffed.The Qu City can be found both in the north and south while the place mentioned in Zuo's Commentary on The Spring and Autumn Annals is in Jixian County,Shanxi Province in the north.Local chronicles generally hold that "Jade produced in Chuiji" is related to Jibi Village in Quwo County,Shanxi Province.It is said that"Three thorns" and "Six distinctives" are respectively interpreted as three forms and six colors of crystal clusters.According to relevant entries in Motze and explanations in An Explication of Written Characters(Shuo Wen Jie Zi) and Chinese Lexicon(Erh-ya),it is easy to know that " Three thorns and Six distinctives"(三棘六异)refers to "Three feathers and Six wings"(三翮六翼),that is "nine tripods".It can be seen that Jibi Village and crystal cluster are actually drawn from wrong analogy.Based on the methods of historical geography and the textual research of Shen Qinhan of the Qing Dynasty,it can be determined that "Chui Mountain"is"Chuiji",located in Gaodu Town,Shanxi Province.
