汪榕培典籍英译教育思想探析

摘要 从教育目标、学科定位及具体特征等方面对汪榕培英译活动进行全方位考察,旨在解读典籍英译名家汪榕培的翻译教育思想。汪榕培典籍英译教育及其翻译研究与实践紧密联系,其教育思想深受翻译经历的影响。研究发现,汪榕培典籍英译教育思想具有深厚的先秦道家人本主义底蕴。在他的教育思想中,典籍英译教育是通识性和专业性的融通、智性教育和诗性教育的结合,教育者应以“闻道勤行”为目标开展教学工作。在教学过程中他强调顺应教育和认知的自然规律,激发学生内在性的觉醒,同时不断彰显典籍英译教育的跨领域属性,关注教学与科研的协同发展。 Wang Rongpei is a prominent mentor and practitoner of Chinese classics translation.This article investigates his educational thinking in teaching objectives,disciplinary orientation and salient features of his educational thinking.His educational activities are closely connected to his translation research and practice,so his translation experience deeply influences his educational ideology.It is found that his thinking is full of humanist spirit of pre-Qin Taoism.While putting the basic training and hands-on experience first,he characterizes the education of Chinese classics translation as a convergence between general and professional education,and a combination of intellectual and poetic education.In the teaching process,he follows the natural laws of education and cognition to stimulate the inner awakening of students.At the same time,he highlights interdisciplinarity in his translation educational activities and collaborative development between translation teaching and research.
