摘要
美国小说家薇拉·凯瑟的代表作《我的安东妮亚》中的家庭空间象征着一种性别维度。在不平等的两性空间分割下,家庭空间成为女性受制于男性规训的表征空间,生活在其中的伯丹太太与哈林太太将男权意识形态奉为圭臬,其空间实践使得男性主导的空间表征更加根深蒂固。与之相反,安东妮亚和莉娜则是两位挑战性别化空间的实践者。在女性主体意识觉醒与强化的影响下,她们以越界至公共空间、占有及建构家庭空间的方式向男尊女卑的空间表征发起挑战,颠覆了传统的男女二元对立的性别空间结构,在相当程度上摆脱了被男权空间话语宰制的命运。考察小说中女性在家庭空间的压迫与反抗,可为和睦家庭与和谐社会的构建提供有益借鉴。
In Myántonia,the representative work of the American novelist Willa Cather,the domestic space symbolizes a gender dimension.In the context of the unequal division of space between genders,the domestic space has become a representational space where women are subject to the discipline by men.Mrs.Burden and Mrs.Haring,who live in such a representational space,regard the patriarchal ideology as the standard.The spatial practice makes the male-dominated spatial representation more deep-seated.In contrast,ántonia and Lena are the practitioners who pose a challenge to the gendered space.Under the influence of the awakening and strengthening of female’s subjective consciousness,they challenge the spatial representation of male superiority and female inferiority by crossing the border to the public space,occupying and constructing the domestic space.In this way,they subvert the traditional spatial structure of genders characterized by binary opposition and escape the fate of being dominated by the patriarchal spatial discourse to a great extent.Examining the oppression and resistance of women in the domestic space may provide a beneficial reference for constructing a harmonious family and society.
