摘要
巴恩斯在2015年出版的著作《另眼看艺术》中,使用了语象叙事手法对席里柯、雷东、马奈等17位艺术家的艺术作品进行了文字再现,使人们得以重新审视语象叙事在文学作品中的功能及“语-图”之间的关系。其中,巴恩斯对席里柯的名画《梅杜萨之筏》的文字再现揭示了语象叙事在文学作品中肩负的言说功能和情感功能。一方面,语象叙事通过对艺术作品背景、创作过程等的文字书写,填补了艺术作品创作过程中的“图像空白”;另一方面,语象叙事能够呈现被凝视客体所欲向观众展现的预期力量,增强艺术作品的情感表达。“语-图”之间不再是传统的互竞高下的对立关系,而是互文性的和谐共生、相生相克、不可分离的关系。
Published in 2015,Keeping an Eye Open-Essays on Art is a piece of work written by Julian Barnes.In this book,Barnes makes use of ekphrasis to fulfill verbal representation of the famous paintings of 17 artists including Géricault,Redon,Manet,etc.,which enables us to re-examine the functions ekphrasis possesses and the relationship between"word"and"image".This article focuses on the verbal representation of the Raft of the Medusa by Géricault and explores the speech function and emotional function ekphrasis shoulders.For one thing,it fills the"image gap"in the process of artistic creation by explaining the background and creative process of artistic works.For another,it can present the expected power artistic works intend to show to the audience,thus enhancing its emotional expression.The relationship between"word"and"image"is no longer traditionally antagonistic,but harmonious,mutually restraint,supportive and inseparable.
