摘要
加快中小银行数字化转型是建设数字经济的必然要求。金融监管如何影响中小银行数字化转型?在当前中小银行属地监管原则下,重点考察属地监管强度与中小银行数字化转型之间的关系。本文以全国范围内254家中小银行2011~2020年数据为样本,在利用Python网络爬虫技术构建中小银行数字化转型程度指标的基础上进行实证分析。研究发现:属地监管强度的提升促进中小银行数字化转型,这种促进作用对资产规模较小、所在地通信基础设施完善的中小银行更明显。从影响机制来看,属地监管强度的提升将通过增强区域创新水平进而推动中小银行数字化转型。上述结论在控制内生性问题的基础上依然成立。基于此,提出加快中小银行数字化转型步伐的相应政策建议。
Accelerating the digital transformation of small and medium-sized banks is an inevitable requirement for building a digital economy. How does financial regulation affect the digital transformation of small and medium-sized banks? Under the current principle of territorial supervision of small and medium-sized banks, the focus is on the relationship between the intensity of territorial supervision and the digital transformation of small and medium-sized banks. Taking the data of 254 small and mediumsized banks nationwide from 2011 to 2020 as a sample, an empirical analysis is carried out on the basis of using Python web crawler technology to construct indicators of the degree of digital transformation of small and medium-sized banks. The study found that the improvement of territorial supervision has promoted the digital transformation of small and medium-sized banks, and this promotion effect is more obvious for small and medium-sized banks with small asset scale and perfect local communication infrastructure. From the perspective of the impact mechanism, the enhancement of territorial supervision will promote the digital transformation of small and medium-sized banks by enhancing the level of regional innovation. The above conclusions still hold on the basis of controlling for endogeneity problems.Based on this, corresponding policy recommendations are put forward to accelerate the pace of digital transformation of small and medium-sized banks.
