Objective To improve the quality of nurses'application of PDA to implement patient identification through PDCA,so as to achieve reduce the incidence of adverse nursing events caused by inadequate patient identification. Methods The PDA quality management team was established, and the quality evaluation standard and process of PDA patient identification were formulated. The PDCA cycle method was used to analyze and improve the inspection results in time during the implementation of the quality evaluation standard of PDA patient identification,so as to continuously improve the quality of patient identification. Results After the application of PDCA cycle method, the quality qualification rate of PDA patient identification in all departments of the hospital increased from 52.17%in the initial implementation stage to 100%,and the incidence of nursing adverse events caused by the incomplete identification of patients increased from 0.3‰in the control group(January 2017 to December 2018).To the observation group(January 2019 to December 2021)decreased to 0.13‰,P<0.01.Conclusion The application of PDCA cycle method can effectively standardize and improve the quality of nurses'implementation of patient identification system, and then reduce the incidence of nursing adverse events caused by poor patient identification.
