摘要
陈庆年祖父经商致富后,欲在后代中培养出文化名人,遂与镇江文化大家族柳氏结姻。陈庆年又拜柳泉(柳诒徵父亲)和两个母舅为师。经过陈氏、柳氏三代人的合力培养,陈庆年终于脱颖而出,成为文化名人。陈庆年后又尽力培养柳诒徵,柳诒徵在史学、教育、图书馆事业方面继承并发扬光大了陈庆年的事业。两人都是“只讲学不做官”的尊儒重教的爱国学者,是研究近代史不可避开的历史人物。
After becoming rich in business, Chen Qingnian’s grandfather intended to cultivate cultural celebrities in future generations, so Chen family was related by marriage to Liu family, a large family of Zhenjiang culture. Chen Qingnian also worshipped Liu Quan(Liu Yizheng’s father) and his two uncles as teachers. Through three generations’ joint efforts of Chen and Liu, Chen Qingnian finally stood out and became a cultural celebrity. Later Chen Qingnian tried his best to train Liu Yizheng. Liu Yizheng inherited and carried forward Chen Qingnian’s career in history, education and library. Both of them were patriotic scholars who respected Confucianism and education and they were “only lecturing but not being an official”. They were historical figures who could not be avoided in the study of modern history.
