摘要
《没有指针的钟》是麦卡勒斯叙事视角转为公共领域的一部转型之作,亦是她的最后一部长篇小说。作家常年的病残经验加之创作视角的转变使得小说的伤残内涵呼之欲出。残障研究学者认为在一个充斥着规范的人类物质世界,社会主流文化通过对话语机制的掌控建构常态霸权将不符合其标准的群体划分、贬低为“残疾人”以契合主体性的文化想象,由此生成了“残障”的社会属性。在社会建构的常态意义框架下,小说中疾病、种族和性别的非主流化被贴上了“越轨”的标签并进行残障化处理,其背后隐匿的实则是被扭曲的文化期待。
Turing from private to public field,Clock Without Hands is McCullers’ s transitional and last novel.Her perennial invalid experience and transformation of creative perspective to some extent that make the novel full of disability implications.Scholars of disability studies hold the view that in the material world of norms,normalcy hegemony constructed by social dominant culture divides and derogates groups incompliant with its standard to be disabled through discourse mechanism in order to satisfy cultural imaginations of subjectivity,which generates the social property of disability.Under the framework of socially constructed normalcy,disease as well as the marginalization of race and gender in the novel are labeled as deviant and disabled behind which contorted cultural expectations are hidden.
