摘要
刘南策先生是中国营造学社创立之初即全职在社工作的核心成员之一,过往研究却对他关注不多。本文爬梳刘南策的背景履历、学社成立前后的活动经历,发现他是朱启钤先生最早延揽入社的建筑工程学专业人才,曾负责陶本《营造法式》的增附图样重绘,共商学社筹建事宜。学社成立后,参加当时首重的《营造辞汇》编订工作,以及学社首次承接的古建筑修缮合作项目故宫角楼城台勘验等,后期进入北平市工务局。刘南策在学社早期工作中承担的制图、实物测绘等关键内容,一方面反映其学术贡献,更重要的是侧面呈现出朱启钤先生对中国古代建筑研究的学术路线认识,及其组织开展中国营造学社工作的过程中,对实物调查、图释表达等现代建筑学方法和专业人才一以贯之的重视。
Liu Nance was a core member of the Zhongguo Yingzao Xueshe(Society for Research in Chinese Architecture)and a full-time employee in the early days of the Society.Liu’s educational background,life,and career reveals that he was the first professional engineer hired by Zhu Qiqian for the Society.Before that,Liu had created architectural drawings for the Tao edition of Yingzao fashi;he had also participated in the preparation for the Society’s establishment.Afterwards,Liu engaged in the compilation of Yingzao cihui and the building of acceptance for the Forbidden City Corner Tower restoration project.Later,he was hired by the Beiping Municipal Bureau of Public Works.Liu’s work,especially his engineering drawings and his professional surveying and mapping,reflects not only his own academic contribution,even more so,it demonstrates Zhu Qiqian’s academic farsightedness and vision for the development of traditional Chinese architectural research.
