摘要
二程理学都构筑了经学的奠基,具有共同的宗旨,但也存在一种结构性的差异。我们考察二程对经典资源的选择与定位,发现二程都是基于《论语》《孟子》《大学》《中庸》《易传》五部经典建构其“道统”的谱系,其本体论都奠基在《易传》的基础上,工夫论都奠基在《中庸》的基础上,并且都具有一个顺向地由“天道”自然发用为“人事”以及一个逆向地通过“人事”的后天努力而逆证“天道”的工夫论的回环结构。但是,在这一回环结构中,二程各有侧重,程颢侧重顺向的“诚”的工夫,而程颐侧重逆向的“诚之”(含“敬”与“致知”)的工夫。在他们各自的《大学》改本中,此一结构性差异得到了鲜明的彰显。
Both the Neo-Confucian philosophies of the Cheng brothers with the same goal are constructed on the foundation of jingxue, or Confucian classical hermeneutics, but there are structural differences between them. Through the analysis of their choices and positioning of certain Confucian classics, we could find that both of them established their philosophical systems based on The Analects of Confucius, Mencius, The Great Learning, The Doctrine of the Mean and Yi Commentary while their ontologies are based on Yi Commentary and their gongfu theories, sharing the same structure of a “gongfu circuit”, are based on The Doctrine of the Mean. In their “gongfu circuit”, Cheng Hao emphasizes the clockwise self-cultivation of “cheng”;on the contrary, Cheng Yi emphasizes the anticlockwise self-cultivation of “jing” and “zhizhi”. Their structural differences find full expression in their realigned versions of The Great Learning.
