摘要
在以创新推动经济高质量发展的背景下,银行业竞争为企业生产率提升提供了新的机遇。本文基于2007—2019年我国地级市银行业竞争数据和A股非金融类上市企业数据,分析了银行业竞争对企业生产率的具体影响及作用机制。研究发现,银行业竞争能够通过企业创新渠道促进企业生产率的提升。进一步研究表明,相较于创新数量渠道的倒U型特征,企业创新质量改善对企业生产率提升的作用更大;此外,发明专利相较于非发明专利的促进作用更明显。拓展性分析表明,银行业竞争对企业生产率的影响方向和强度会因企业所有权性质、行业属性(是否为高新技术企业)而存在差异。本文的研究结论为我国企业创新中存在的“数量长足、质量跛脚”的问题提供了新的证据,也为企业提高生产率提供了参考。
The competition in the banking industry in the context of quality economic development engine by innovation provides new opportunities for enterprises to improve their productivity.Based on the data of banking competition in prefecture-level cities and A-share non-financial listed companies from 2007 to 2019,this paper analyzes the specific effects and influencing mechanisms of banking competition on firm productivity.Studies found that the banking competition through innovative channels to promote the productivity of the enterprise.Further studies show that compared with the inverted U-shaped characteristics of innovation quantity channels,the improvement of enterprise innovation quality plays a greater role in improving enterprise productivity.In addition,the promotion effect of invention patents is more obvious than that of non-invention patents.Expansional analysis shows that the direction and intensity of the impact of banking competition on firm productivity will vary depending on the nature of ownership and the nature of the industry(whether it is a high-tech firm or not).The conclusion of this study provides new evidence and direction for the problem of"large quantity but lame quality"in the innovation and productivity improvement of Chinese enterprises.
