摘要
在西方史学史特别是美国史学史上,卡尔·贝克尔的史学思想具有重要地位。与国内学界相比,美国学界对贝克尔的研究更为丰富。美国史学家主要从三个方面讨论贝克尔史学:第一,基于贝克尔史学思想产生的历史语境和学术语境,学者们阐明了贝克尔的治史取向;第二,基于贝克尔的“双重革命”解释和相对主义史学思想,学者们分析了贝克尔的研究转向;第三,基于贝克尔史学思想的演进逻辑,学者们论证了贝克尔史学的性质,同时在后现代语境下评述了贝克尔史学的价值。这些讨论与美国史学转型和社会变革密切相关。梳理美国学界关于贝克尔的既有研究,是国内学者在新的研究情境下进行学术对话、推动国内史学的反思与成长的前提。
Carl Becker’s historiography develops an important role in western historiography,especially in American historiography.Compared with domestic academic circles,American historians pay more attention to Becker.American historians discuss Becker’s historiography from three main aspects.First,scholars have discussed Becker’s historical orientation based on the historical context and historiographical context in which his historical thought came into being.Second,based on Becker’s“double revolution”interpretation and relativism historical thought,scholars have analyzed Becker’s research turn.Third,scholars have demonstrated the nature of Becker’s historiography according to the evolutionary logic of Becker’s historiography,and they have also commented on the value of Becker’s historiography in the post-modern context.Those debates could be related to historical transformation and social change in the United States.To sort out existing studies in American academia is the precondition for domestic scholars to conduct academic dialogue and promote the reflection and growth of domestic historiography under the new research.
